Current projects

Working on several websites, fixing formatting, fonts, and the overall look and feel. I’m learning Hugo in the process, but not to become a webbed, purely to work on my sites, like this one.

I also have an ongoing number of projects to keep the house in shape and ideas for future plans.

Social Media

I’ve completely deleted a residual WhatsApp account, which was my only association with Meta. I also deactivated a BlueSky account, although it has not been deleted. I’m reducing as much as I can wasting time on Mastodon. I’m being very deliberate about what I watch on YouTube.

Photos

I have over 10K photos on Flickr, in breach of the free account limits (it never used to be), so I have requested a download of all my photos. I’m waiting for that, and debating what I’m going to do next.

The photos in question are a historical record of local trail races over a period of 6 years and are valuable to the clubs, the individual and for me to look back at. I have local copies of all the originals (although I had to do an Aperture ➔ Photos dance) and I also had some in Lightroom that I have been able to rescue.

I’m thinking of self-hosting, but the storage required might be prohibitive. I’m not sure if this blogging system can successfully handle what I want, either. Although, I might be wrong. That’s the next big challenge.
